Position Summary:
We are looking for a dynamic Vice President of Finance to lead our finance and accounting function with equal strength in operational execution and strategic insight. This role will serve as a key business partner to leadership, driving financial clarity across the organization while ensuring excellence in accounting, compliance, and controls.
The ideal candidate has a strong controllership foundation (audit-ready mindset, systems orientation, and cash discipline) combined with FP&A experience supporting a growth-stage or digital business.
Key Responsibilities:
Controllership
- Lead all accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and revenue recognition
- Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with U.S. GAAP
- Manage all external financial reporting, audit processes, and tax compliance in coordination with external firms
- Develop and enhance internal controls, financial policies, and scalable accounting processes
- Oversee treasury management, cash forecasting, banking relationships, and investment policies
- Manage financial systems and lead initiatives to automate workflows and improve data integrity
Financial Planning & Analysis
- Lead corporate budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis processes, partnering closely with department heads
- Provide real-time financial insights and strategic recommendations to the executive team
- Develop and analyze financial models to evaluate business scenarios and growth investments, leveraging deep understanding of the marketing mix, digital acquisition and retention strategies, and call center operations to drive data-informed decision making and optimize ROI across customer touchpoints
- Leverage seasoned expertise to support board and investor reporting through the preparation of comprehensive monthly and quarterly dashboards, narratives, and strategic insights; regularly attend board meetings to present financial updates and contribute to high-level discussions.
- Monitor KPIs and performance drivers across the business to improve accountability and decision-making
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience, ideally including time in a startup or growth-stage environment
- Strong controllership background with deep knowledge of GAAP and internal controls; CPA preferable
- Demonstrated success building or optimizing FP&A functions and partnering with cross-functional teams
- Strong analytical, modeling, and presentation skills with attention to both detail and big-picture thinking
- Proficiency with NetSuite, Excel/Google Sheets, and FP&A tools
- Proven leadership experience managing teams and developing talent
- Experience in a technology-driven, consumer-oriented, or marketplace business is a strong plus
