Claye Stokes joined the Caring team in the summer of 2023 as Vice President of Audience, leading the content strategy and organic audience (SEO) teams. Claye’s content philosophy is centered around delivering helpful, empathetic content for care seekers, supported with a data-driven approach. When he’s not at work, he’s spending time with his family, 4 pets (2 dogs, 2 cats), backpacking, or picking away at an acoustic guitar.
Claye has worked in digital media and content optimization since 2007 where he got his start at OrangeSoda, a search marketing agency in Utah’s ‘Silicon Slopes.’ In Utah, he developed agency experience, ultimately leading the Client Services team (VP of Client Services) at SEO.com until 2014, providing SEO, content strategy, CRO, and social media services to a wide array of clients ranging from tech startups to Dell, Hotels.com, and Amazon AWS.
In 2015, Claye and his family of four moved to Charlotte, NC where he developed and managed the content and organic audience teams powering brands like CNET, ZDNet, Allconnect, Coverage and NextAdvisor (in partnership with TIME magazine).
As a teen, Claye often spent his weekends in nursing homes and senior homes, singing in quartets and small choir groups to entertain the residents, and he enjoyed hearing about the lives of the seniors he interacted with. His late grandfather Ray, an Icelandic immigrant, is Claye’s greatest hero and role model, and he enjoys the opportunity at Caring to continue to serve seniors and their families.
